A message has been received here by
friends from Charles Martin of San Diego, California telling of the death on
February 26 in Bangalore, India of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Clyde Martin. The
message stated that death resulted from heart disease. Mrs. Martin was well
known in Greencastle having graduated from DePauw with the class of 1905. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta
Sorority. She formerly was Miss Florence Roach of Rushville, Ill. Charles
Martin is well known in Greencastle having been at one time president of DePauw
University. Mr. and Mrs. Martin went to
India about four years ago where Mr. Martin holds a high position with the
English Forestry Department. According to the cablegram received by Mr. Martin
from his son, the small son, Charles Jr will be sent back to America with
friends of the Martin family and will live with the grandparents in San Diego. - kbz
